Vitalzym, Anti-Inflammatory Systemic Enzyme Supplement

Let me say at the outset that I do not know everything. I am not looking for a following. Of course I would like to sell you lots of Vitalzym, but it's more important to me that your health be served. I invite you to explore this information.

January, 2010 Vitalzym has been reworked and reformulated based on advances in enzyme science. The familiar green capsule that was my mainstay for seven years has been replaced by a small cream-colored pearl. The cost per day has been reduced by 40%. All of the following information still applies, though the new formula is about twice as strong as the previous one. I was taking 8-10 a day of the original Vitalzym, and only 3 of the new version seems to do the same thing for me. This site, posted by World Nutrition, shows why Vitalzym is the best!!

Vitalzym is a synergistic combination of several different kinds of enzymes. Enzymes are the biocatalysts necessary for the chemical reactions associated with breathing, growth, reproduction, digestion, and all other metabolic functions. As we age, our bodies produce fewer enzymes. When enzyme production declines, as it does starting when we are only 27, the biochemical laboratory that is our body cannot function at peak efficiency as it did when we were younger.

The end result is that fibrin, that stuff circulating in the blood that is used to help heal wounds and form scar tissue, starts to be laid down where it doesn't belong, to help stabilize the body. But the body can become so stabilized that we start to feel stiff and it gets hard to move, get up, walk, or do the simple things we used to do without thinking. Fibrin is also laid down in the organs as well as the muscles, joints, and blood vessels. We end up as a walking bundle of scar tissue, stiff and dull and feeling old.

Vitalzym dissolves fibrin and helps to remove it from the body. Not just any old fibrin, but the kind that is in the wrong place. The result is that tissues and joints begin to be more supple.

My own experience with Vitalzym started in February, 2003, on the day before the 3rd anniversary of my Mother's passing. I was poking around the internet and thought I would look for something to listen to while I did a mindless task. I stumbled upon a lecture by the very brilliant Dr. William Wong, ND, PhD, about Vitalzym, a systemic enzyme formula. As soon as I heard him speak, my hair stood up. I dropped the task and gave my full attention to Dr. Wong. I knew right away that I had to try this stuff.

This may seem strange, but the first thing I noticed, after a couple of days, was that my little pit-stops at night went from 2 hours apart to 4 hours apart. This meant my sleep was unbroken for a longer time and the quality of rest I was getting was better.

Over the course of the next few days, I noticed reduced pain, increased mental clarity, and more energy. I thought it was just wishful thinking. I thought, "This is too soon, it can't be happening that fast. I must be making this up." Then my boss said, "You seem to have more energy." This was important since I worked with kids! Then a pain I'd been having from an old injury to my right wrist started to become less troublesome. My interest in life increased. Now I'm full of ideas all the time.

I received from the Vitalzym people a tape of Dr. Wong, talking about enzymes and their importance. I listened to it over and over again. I had never been aware of the extent and importance of enzymes to human life.

I remain convinced that Vitalzym is the very best systemic enzyme preparation available. One of my clients has noticed the disappearance of a disturbing side effect from one of his many medications taking only one capsule per day, which I don't think is enough. Another, taking 9 caps a day, noticed some serious hip pain to be lessening after a day and a half. After 2 weeks on Vitalzym he rode a very demanding 50-mile motorcycle trail, and reported to me that he didn't end up with two days of soreness and aches as in the past. He also wondered if it was just wishful thinking, but when a week passed and the improvements stayed and kept increasing, he was convinced. (Update 12/04, he's now on Vitalzym 20 months, takes 12 caps a day, and is still pain free.) He says that in 7 years, fighting Chronic Fatigue (Epstein-Barr), he has tried over 400 nutrients and nothing even comes close to the results he has seen in just a couple of weeks on Vitalzym. Perhaps the reason is that proteolytic (protein-eating) enzymes digest the protein coating on a virus, which removes its ability to attach itself to your cells. My, my! COUMADIN ~ May 8, 2010 One of my Vitalzym customers has a friend who wants to get off of a blood thinner called Coumadin and take Vitalzym instead. I feel strongly that medical supervision is important for this transition. Here is the text of my letter to her.

Thank you for your phone call just now. Here are two links to the World Nutrition information about Vitalzym. Note that the CD lecture is by Dr. William Wong, a different person from Dr. Wang in the second link below.

I understand that your friend's doctor is willing to help her possibly replace the Coumadin with Vitalzym, for which he is to be applauded. Vitalzym apparently does not thin the blood, but makes blood thinners work better, which makes medical supervision pretty important during the transition. Of course, anticoagulants are not limited to Coumadin. Vitamin E and Ginkgo Biloba are also anticoagulants as well as aspirin, ginger, onion, garlic, ginseng and purple (Concord) grapes. Of all of these the purple grape is the strongest of the natural anticoagulants, if you eat the seeds and the skin with the grape, so in blood viscosity issues it may be important to take those things into account.

World Nutrition has informed me that their primary MD who has been helping doctors understand and utilize Vitalzym for patients on Coumadin, Dr. Lee, is not available at this time because he is ill. I've been told that his protocol in the Coumadin vs Vitalzym issue is this:

Do a blood viscosity test one week prior to starting Vitalzym. Then, while continuing the Coumadin, start the patient on Vitalzym, one capsule twice a day. My personal opinion is that depending on the patient's age and condition, it may be better to err on the side of caution and start with one capsule daily. After a week, check blood viscosity again. Continue to check blood viscosity and experiment with lowering the Coumadin and increasing Vitalzym. It would be nice if the result could be elimination of the Coumadin, which is a poison, and replacing it with Vitalzym, which isn't. Monitoring blood viscosity is the key.

As you know, Vitalzym has been one of my mainstays for over seven years, and I never want to be without it. Since I cannot take prescription drugs of any kind, being violently intolerant to them physically, I have had to search for nutritional answers to every issue since I was 22 (in 1965). As I got older I began to have fibrotic pain and stiffness. I discovered Vitalzym in 2003, and had immediate results with pain and even found an extra dose would handle the occasional headache.

Hi Nancy,

Just wanted to write you. I had written you a while ago about muscle pain I was having and the doctor said I probably had polymyalgia rheumatica because my sed rate was around 78 and going higher. The doc wanted me to take prednisone, if you recall, but I took the Vitalzym instead. Well, my pain was quickly gone and I went for blood tests this week and my SED rate is totally normal now!!! So glad I researched and found this and didn't go the western route with prednisone!!!!

However, the doc found I have a heart murmur and thinks I may have a small leak in the mitral valve (mitral valve prolapse, it's called?) and wondered if you knew of something good to take for that. Apparently, I don't think even if he finds a leak -- I'm going for an echocardiogram soon--that it is a serious problem. But you seem so knowledgeable I thought you might be able to make some recommendations for this. I am taking CoQ10, and also a product called CVF with Potassium, Magnesium, and Carnitine.

Update, June 29, 2003, after now 4 months on Vitalzym. I suddenly realized about a month ago that I'm putting in the same 16-18 hour days I did in my mid-40's. I didn't realize it as my staying power was gradually increasing, and then one day I said, hey, what am I doing still up? Another thing is, I now have to cut my nails every week, and my hair is growing faster! I keep my hair short, and used to have to cut it every 2 months, now after just one month suddenly it's driving me crazy again!

I had a fall at work on Monday night June 23, stepped in some water and the right heel just kept going forward on the floor for about 4 feet, meanwhile the rest of me is going down hard and twisting the left foot, ankle and knee in some kind of way that they were NOT designed to move... anyway, it started to swell and was really painful. I took 4 extra caps of the Vitalzym (I keep some in the car), two more at bedtime, and woke up with NO swelling, NO pain except a bit of residual soreness in all muscles. I am totally amazed. At the time I thought I was really injured. Nine years ago I had a fall, somewhat worse than this one, and couldn't walk for a year without pain. Wish I'd had Vitalzym back then.

Update 1-25-06 After 13 months on Vitalzym, on April 7, 2004, I met the love of my life, Willie. Without Vitalzym I am certain I would not have evinced the happiness and vitality he found so appealing. To him I owe the deepest debt of gratitude for holding the space for me to show up in, and continuing to hold it so that I can explore who I really am and how best to help others, without having to worry about the day-to-day stuff that was such a trial to me my whole life before. Update 7-16-07 I'm now taking 8 caps of Vitalzym a day and 50 mg Iodoral, along with a bunch of heart supports. Hubby was diagnosed with bladder cancer recently and has chosen to refuse the standard treatment track, after the bladder tumor was removed (which didn't help at all). He has done a huge amount of study online and found that there are many MANY alternative treatments. We are switching to all raw, mostly juices, and water and supplements.

Update 5-23-08 Hubby passed away November 15, 2007, having refused to follow a complete protocol or to give up the smokeless tobacco he was using until 10 days before he died. It was a rough six months before then and it's been a rough 6 months since then, too. I hit bottom with adrenal exhaustion early this month in spite of supplements. They tell me grief takes many forms. I am currently taking 5 Vitalzym 3 times a day. I take adrenal, kidney, and thyroid supports in the morning, heart supports at midday, and liver and spleen supports in the evening. This seems to be working to retrieve my energy and interest in things. The support of close friends and clients has been a blessing. Thank you, everyone.

Update 6-26-09 I'm still taking 5 Vitalzym twice a day plus a handful of other stuff and am starting to feel like myself again. In April found a doctor who actually knows what he's doing, Dr. Terence Young, MD, in Salem, Oregon. With most docs it's like I have to pay them to teach them something. This man actually knows more than I do, a lot more. Very refreshing. He's teaching me.

Update 4-6-10 I am taking 3 a day of the new formula Vitalzym with good results in terms of decreased inflammation.
